In green paper folder “Pacific Community” (publication), letter from Frank Mount to Bill Stokes, American Embassy, Thailand and Prof. Richard Walker, South Carolina, Dec. 1969, announcing the new journal with which he is editorially associated, published by the Pacific Institute, an association of individuals from 10 Asian countries, of which he was elected Executive Secretary and B.A.S. the Chairman, and draft “not sent” from c. Clark to Prof. H. Mayer, Sydney re problems; from D.Jensen for the Institute concerning subscriptions and the discontinuance of the magazine in 1971 for lack of finance, subscription list. Papers on the Institute’s 1971 conference, Saigon, 20-22 Oct. 1971 attended by N.P., F.M. and Fr. S. from Aust. With ms. notes on Political Situation; Confidential paper “Prospects of the Pacific Institute”; minutes of the Institute, Hawthorn, June 1971 annotated by B.A.S.; notes on proposed structure for , etc. etc.

“Description of Operations”: size, peronnel, work performed, etc. … programme areas wherein seeking U.S. C.P. funding, overviews of project work, etc.: commences: ‘The Pacific Institute is the overseas operations arm of the National Civic Council. The N.C.DC. is the political base of the Democratic Labor Party. (Here sketch outline of history, aims and current status of D.L.P.” (8 pp. typescript, inscribed on top cop in pencil “B.A.S.” This fell out of a file in this group, probably out of this.
