All but two letters are originals from members of the Australian Hierarchy to the Hon. E.J. Hogan responding to the March issue of “Communist Review” containing a prominent attack on Santamaria.

Also: a copy of Hogan’s letter to Bishop Fox, Broken Hill, 4 April 1957, covering the article;

a copy of the Apostolic Delegate Romolo Carboni’s letter to B.A.S., 22 March 1957, acknowledging his letter of 18 March 1957 containing the analysis of the decisions taken recently in the political field, copies of which he forwarded to Rome, and agreeing with his analysis.
