Scope and contents
H2023.120/1-39 depict portraits of artists, including painters, ceramic artists and sculptors in their studios with one portrait and one view of a still life of each studio showing their tools, art supplies and paints. All artists active during 1987-1993, many connected with ROAR studios in Fitzroy. Studios are in Richmond, St. Kilda, Caulfield and ROAR studios in Fitzroy. Includes sculptor Bruce Armstrong, painters David Band and Stephen McCarthy, Geraldine Burke, Brigid Courtney and Fay Plamka. H2023.121/1-13 are black and white flexible base negative film strips with contact prints showing people attending openings at 'ROAR 82-83 Now' exhibition, Tuesday 26 May 1992, and opening of 'Count to Ten', ROAR 2 Gallery, Tuesday 16 June 1992, to mark the 10 years of ROAR Gallery in 1992. Many well-known artists and Fitzroy locals are photographed holding identifying name cards.

Slides taken by John Hinds, an artist and active ROAR member from 1986 to 1993, documenting artists who he knew personally, capturing a significant time in Melbourne's art scene.
Slide mounts are printed with slide maker: Proslide Matin.
H2023.120/8 and H2023.120/9 David Waltho Caravan Sculptors Richmond and H2023.120/10 and H2023.120/11 Mark Stoner Caravan Sculptors Richmond, are colour negatives mounted in slide mounts with accompanying colour contact prints of images.
Title, date, subject and photographer's name inscribed in black felt tipped pen on mount.
