Series 12: Photographs, 1950 - 2003

There are 1683 photographs in total in the collection. This consists of 85 black and white and 90 colour photographs by various named photographers documenting Vali Myers life, some photographs taken in Paris in the early 1950s, at her book launch in Amsterdam by named Dutch photographers and Il Porto. Some photographs have the photographers’ stamps and details on verso. They are seperated into black and white (Subseries A) and colour sequences(Subseries B). These are numbered numbered H2019.51/1-164, H2021.79-83, H2021.84 PCLTAEF 112 Box 1, H2021.86, PCLTAF 1305, PCLTA 2542 Box 1-8.

Subseries C consists of 1276 colour chromogenic photographs, which are mostly small 'chemist prints' taken in the 1990s to 2003 by unknown photographers, documenting Vali's life in Il Porto Positano, friends, travels and her return to Australia. These photographs were also enlarged and laminated by Vali for display in her studio in the Nicholas Building (see Subseries D). These are numbered H2022.22/1-1276 PCLTA 2546 Box 1-5.

Subseries D consists of 218 laminated prints and show a curated selection of the chromogenic photographs chosen by Vali Myers to tell the story of her life on the walls of her studio-gallery. These are numbered H2022.23/1-218 PCLTAF 1305 Boxes 5-7 arranged by size and subject.

Subseries E consists of 13 large photographic prints printed on photographic paper, and a series of works printed on linen. Some are duplicates and some show different stages of completion of a drawing. These are numbered H2021.77/1-2, H2021.78/1-10, LTAEF 307, LTAEF 308 Box 1-2.
