Shows the central figure of Kunapipi, a mother goddess and the patron deity of many heroes in Australian Aboriginal mythology. Depicted with red hair, and surrounded by dogs. A snakeskin is pasted onto the drawing upper centre.
Described by Gianni Menichetti in 'Notes about Vali Myers drawings in this book' (YMS 16336, Box 6/3): Kunapipi, the great mother of Australian Aborigines...Rain falls from the clouds...Waters of the river are swirling...She, Kunapipi, emerges and walks on dry land. This drawing really began as Irbaik-baik, the wild woman who lived with a pack of dingoes.
