Scope and contents

Covers 1996 to 1997, and loose pages dated 2000-2001, from Il Porto to Australia and ends Il Porto. Inscribed: 'For the storm driven, harbours are only ports of call', 'Vali Myers - wild goose, March hare, and first and foremost - a vixen fox'. Includes literary references to the poets Keats p. 27 and Shelley p. 28, and loose photographs and items. Of note is an important early small black and white photograph loose at p. 1 with inscription on verso in German showing Vali's home, the one roomed domed pavilion in the state of disrepair as Vali and Rudi first found it in (see her reference in diary notebook H2018.441 about this photograph and original in diary at H2018.443 box 17). The photograph is inscribed in German on verso and translates as: 'Summer house in the current condition with orange tree and in the foreground...'. Reference to planning a new book of drawings and facsimile of notebooks published p. 39. Drawing of a chook with her chickens on p.72 and finishes with photograph of Vali and Sheba the dog in Il Porto. Also loose pages inserted at p. 70, entries for Melbourne dated 2000 and 2001.

Title from inside title page: Il Porto Wildlife Oasis, Positano Salerno Italy. Images of owls and a fox pasted on front cover. Includes loose items and inserts. On page 38, a transparency of a dog was found and removed to a folder of transparencies housed in the Cool store.
