Abstract

[M5250] 10p., ms. In Fawkner’s hand. Not signed or dated. The story of Watts, as told by Fawkner, is that of a decent and industrious individual driven to bushranging by the persecution of corrupt and malicious colonial officials. At the bottom left corner of p.10 is inscribed “J.J. Walsh/Drouin/[illegible]”. (On Walsh, see the notes on the 1869 Diary, below).
