Letter greetings for the New Year; weather in New York freezing; holiday season was very much about Poland for them; no longer has a lease on her loft (rent increased five fold) and the landlord has started procedures to evict her, but Denise will fight the case; is questioning her relationship with her dealer, Max Protetch, as her paintings are not selling or being collected; highly recognized but starving artist; is enjoying a rigorous gym programme. 3p., 12 January, 1982

Letter will be in Brussels for a show on 13th March (see below for catalogue) and is hoping to visit Paris and see Catherine; sold a painting 2 weeks ago and the collectors invited Denise to the Caribbean for a week at their house in St John and she is enjoying the stay there; she can now survive financially for a few more months; strain living with such economic uncertainty; loft situation still bad and Denise is now in the Supreme Court; her lawyer advised her that the case could be up for a year or so; just found out that she will be having a show in Melbourne in this July or August. 2p., 10 February, 1982
