General note

The library was closed recently for the annual cleaning and stocktaking. The report has not been completed but a few details given.

The medals of the American Presidents have arrived.

The Government has not replied to the demand for 25 copies of their publications to be given as exchange for the donations received by the Public Library.

Re Mr. Sevey.

Sorry to inform Barry that Charles Smellie is leaving the library soon, due to prospect of there being no rise. Sheffield fears that the able young men will leave unless an annual increment is given to their salaries. (6 pages)
