Barry, James Ballyclough, Ireland, 18 November, 1858

 Item — box-folder: 601.1 (g)

Dates

  • 18 November, 1858

General note

Glad to hear that St. Leger's money is coming . Hopes that St. Leger will not suffer so much from thirst! Refers to an article in the Times about the large exports of silver to the East and China. Is it correct that the balance of trade was in Britain's favour in 1858, and against in 1857? (10 pages)
