Strange that Barry has been asked to take on the duties of the Chief Justice for the second time. Perhaps he will be asked to take it on permanently.

Thanking him for the papers about the visit of the Dutch ship to establish trade, and the picture of the Public Library.

Olivia anxious to know what Redmond thinks on Mademoiselle Turquet's book.

Robert Bury and his wife over here for a fortnight. Their amusements. The Drought family at Heidelberg.

The Duke of Devonshire is staying at Lismore Castle. Returning home soon.

Met Lord Mount Cashell and Lady Jane recently.
