Acknowledging receipt of Barry's letter and intends to place his request in the hands of the Premier and Colonial Secretary. Will give permission for his portrait and those of other governors to be photographed, but warns that the collection is not complete.

Encloses a reply from "Mr. Hch" (Herschel?), the only man he knows, versed in Aboriginal lore. (4 pages)
