General note
Reminds him that he took nearly one hundred and fifty pounds from Mr. Maxwell when in London as the committee of the Supreme Court Library was dissatisfied with him for not spending it.
Barry gave the addressee orders worth one thousand pounds, and three hundred pounds more has been sent, yet no books have arrived yet.
Annoyed with this negligence and asks the addressee to give the order to other booksellers if he cannot do it himself. As well, the committee is not pleased with his manner of corresponding. The books well bound but too expensive, and the committee could purchase from other booksellers at cheaper prices.
Asks to get his binders to stamp their names on the books they bind, and to mark the date of publication on the books. Binding is also more expensive than Mr. Maxwell's.
The University books for Professor McCoy have not arrived yet. Does not wish to scold him on another Christmas Day.
Emphasises that all serials and journals must be sent punctually. (5 pages. Draft) (This letter has also been published in La Trobe Library Journal, vol. 1, no. 1, April 1968, p. 8)
