General note

Addressed, Melbourne Public Library. On Chapman receiving a spectroscope by mistake. Pleased that Ulrich (?) is happy in New Zealand.

Efforts being made in Victoria to re-establish the Geological survey formerly conducted by Selwyn. Better to have organisation than prospecting by "practical men".

Glad to see that Chapman is in good health. Hopes to visit New Zealand soon. His "cause celebre" finished after 48 days.
