Addressed, Carlton Gardens, Melbourne. Re his article on changes, suggesting that the museum should label all objects clearly or publish a cheap catalogue.
Enclosing a catalogue and asking him to compare it with any other museum catalogue.
States that there is more information in this catalogue than in those of the British Museum and other places which he names. Re the labelling of sculptures in the museum, the biographical charts of Italian painters made by the gallery staff.
Asks him to compare the historical progress of the ceramic art in their catalogue with others.
Deplores the fact that Victorians criticise the museum while European writers praise their efforts.
