Childers, Hugh Culling Eardley, 14 February, 1860

 Item — box-folder: 599.1(b)

Dates

  • 14 February, 1860

General note

Addressed, Ballarat. Hopes that his parliamentary affairs are all concluded and that he will now be able to inspire some of his helper to work.

The example of Australian politics will help Childers before he helps "Liberalism". There is only one point of reform left in Victoria and that is the payment of members. Yet the State is in debt and the men in charge are not the sort to "inspire confidence in their honesty". (1 page. Typed)
