Item — box-folder: YMS MS 15488 BOX 1/4
Dates
- 1916 October 9
Note:
He discusses wedding plans. He mentions that he saw B. that day [probably Bruche] and that B. told him 'a certain general - very well known in Gallipoli, is in England. I do wish I could see him and have a yarn even if he has not got feathers in his tail. I may not mention his name but he saw a man once who wished that he was a canary. savee!' He is probably speaking of General Birdwood. He also discusses another General from Gallipoli (mentioned as a Divisional General) and describes the trench meetings they had. He should like to see this General also as 'his reports on my work got me that blue and red ribbon whcih is nearest my buttons.'
