Note:
He discusses a review of all Australian troops by the King, to be held on Salisbury Plain on Wednesday. He talks about how in his absence some things 'did not go well' and that there is 'nothing definite yet about the move.' He 'got a very nice letter from the man now running my battalion.' He had a letter from his adjutant that 'tells me that my Sargt Stringer has been given the Russian "Cross of St George, 4th Class" in addition to the D.C.M. Good for Stringer.' [Sergeant Francis Thomas Stringer].
