Note:

He writes of wedding plans and passes on news (or rumours) that 'the 4th Div and 5th Div training battalions - 6 in all are to be moved to form "D" group and that I am to command. If that is so it will mean that A. B. and C. will each have 3 battalions only and that I shall have 6 in "D" group.' He mentions that a Captain Worrall 'is to come to me as general staff officer.'
