Subseries 4: Park Action Group Papers., March, 1994 - August, 1995

Until August 1994, when the new SAP Executive and Council met for the first time, the organisation of SAP members into activists was most likely carried out on the run. An undated document exists (ca. March, 1994) listing 3 working parties: Information, Publicity and Lobbying. However, Minutes of the general meetings in ensuing months show that further group reports were presented from a variety of working parties, groups and committees.

For the first rally on 15 May, 1994, there is evidence of a good deal of planning and letter-writing containing the signature of Margaret Gillespie, Publicity Committee. On 24 August, 1994, when the first lists were circulated, Margaret was named as Convenor of the Park Action Group. In December, 1994, Margaret became Convenor of the Legal Group.

The papers presented here as the Park Action Group Papers were maintained separately by Margaret Gillespie and Amanda Carlton.

Many members were engaged in planning and designing park actions. Further papers can be found in legal files, in the papers kept by Robin Joyce and Di Shipp and also in Convenor's files.
