Attendance count at the Grand Prix for the 1998, 1999 and 2000 races., 1998 - 2000

From the first race, SAP was in dispute with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation regarding published attendance figures. In 1997, SAP carried out a partial survey (counting the event on Friday) and detected a large discrepancy in the subsequently published attendance. From 1998 - 2003, an organised count of attendees was conducted. Colin Smith was the principal organiser and published a detailed analysis of the figures for each year.

These papers represent the working papers for the administration of this activity, including the organisation of the rosters by Margot Carroll. Large amounts of members were be mobilised to carry out the count.

File originally included a photograph taken on 17 February, 1999, of a sign displayed at the gate of the GP, showing the different tickets and lanyards for attendees at the race. This photograph is in an album at 62/204.
