Scope and contents

Includes handwritten notes, e.g. to Kevin 29.1970 from Frank concerning Preston Branch meeting; and meeting 5 May 1972 discussing amalgamation opposed by D.L.P.; [from K.D.to M.O’S, from Kodak, re possible stoppage on Kodak, Sheet Metal Workers’ feelings about the meeting and amalgamation, with references to meetings at Jolimont and Springvale. [This is on the back of N.C.C. circular 11 Dec. 1968 acknowledging contributions];

notices of Amalgamated Metal Unions meetings 1973 [the amalgamated unions are the Amalgamated Engineering Union, Boilermakers and Blacksmiths Society and the Sheetmetal Workers Union, combined by certificate issued by the commonwealth Industrial Registrar 10 Jan. 1972, with enabling rules for the operation of the transitional period of amalgamation on 17 Jan.

Thereafter, minutes of the Victorian State council of the Amalgamated engineering Union marked “A.E.U. file”, Victorian State conference, quarterly reports, “Address by SELF – AEU to Meeting of Shop Stewards on Sat in March ‘70 at Geelong THC” on Collective Bargaining Systems, etc.
