Marked “Secret”: Deputy Director, A-G.’s Department, Adelaide, to Director, Commonwealth Investigation Service, Canberra, 2 Oct. 1948, concerning the distribution of a card to parishioners in a Glenelg church requiring them to write the section of a Union to which he belonged; an invitation from F.V. Street, Hon. Organising Secretary, Catholic Luncheon Club, to Col. Longfield-Lloyd, 16 Feb. 1948, inviting him to hear an address “Communism in Australia” in Canberra by Rev. P.J. Ryann; monthly report 18 Feb. – 18 Nov. 1947, item 23, (quotes “Guardian”) concerning the financing of Catholic Action; newscuttings’ “Facts about Communism”; letter 19 Sept. 1952, Sydney, concerning by various agencies with various agencies for the purpose of receiving information concerning Communists and suspected Communists reported to C.A. by members and contacts, with names blocked out [a very explicit letter], and an incident of concern. Seems to relate to N.S.W. office.
