Letters written by Henry Edwards while acting as Coppin's agent in America in the absence of Andrew Birrell, who was travelling abroad from approximately May to December 1871. Edwards was described in the Argus newspaper as "Our favourite colonial actor and manager, Mr Henry Edwards, now of New York" (5 March 1881).
