Scope and contents
Jenkins describes his voyage home on the 'Ophir', a mail steamer. He boards the ship in Melbourne on 24 November 1894 and travels to England via Adelaide, South Australia; Albany, Western Australia; Colombo, Ceylon; the Gulf of Aden; the Red Sea; the Suez Canal; Port Said, Egypt; the Mediterranean Sea; Sicily; Gibraltar; and the Bay of Biscay. His account ends when the ship reaches the mouth of the Thames River on 5 January 1895.
