Jenkins rents a cottage in Maldon, and is reemployed by the Council there to maintain the Council's drains; bad bushfires on the anniversary Black Thursday; he receives news that the University of Aberystwyth has burnt down; he records a discussion with a Captain of the Salvation Army; he visits his hut in the Bush; also includes a clipping from the Age newspaper dated October 11 1885, which relates to a meeting of the Central Board of Health.
