Leaves the home of David Evans and walks to New Bridge, Eddington, Majorca and Mount Cameron seeking work; finds work at Seven Hills Farm near Kingston; visits Melbourne in order to attend the International Exhibition; takes out a summons against Henry Glendenning; attempts unsuccessfully to recover the £38 owed him by his friend John Lewis; and works as a wood cutter in the bush.
