Deas Thomson, Colonial Secretary's Office, Sydney, N.S.W., to Charles Swanston and James Simpson, Hobart Town, 27 November 1837. Reports that Secretary of State for the Colonies has approved and confirmed resolutions of the Executive Council of this colony regarding the claims of the Port Phillip Association. Land sale early next year; (c) Transcript of original letter from Charles Swanston, Hobart Town, V.D. Land, to J. Deas Thomson, Colonial Secretary, N.S.W., 14 December 1837. Acknowledges letter of 27 November. Feels Executive Council does not carry out the intentions of Her Majesty's Government as announced by Lord Glenelg. Compensation for the Port Phillip Association. Contentment of the indigenous population; (d) Letter from Charles Swanston, Hobart Town, to George Mercer, Dryden, Edinburgh, 20 December 1837. Notes that he is expecting Mercer's son. Shearing.
