William Barak at work on the drawing 'Ceremony' at Coranderrk, after 1945

This is a copy print of a photograph of William Barak painting a corroboree made after 1945 (dated from the photograph paper brand), and originally taken in 1902 by Johannes Heyer (brother of Clara S. Paton). A number of copies exist, including two in the State Library Victoria's Pictures Collection, the National Portrait Gallery, and the Art Gallery of South Australia.

This photograph was found in an envelope with a crossed out address and "For Frances" "Wm Barak photo" written in different hands. It was donated in a bundle with a number of letters from Frank Paton to Clara Heyer dated between December 1894 and February 1896.
